 Department Information

 

The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department treats both in the inpatient and outpatient settings, providing treatment for a variety of diseases characteristic of the ear, nose and throat, head and neck including: 

  • Ear surgery – myringotomy with tube insertion, tympanoplasty (eardrum reconstruction), hearing repair, treatment for chronic ear infection. 
  • Treatment for a variety of inner ear disorders - dizziness and hearing problems, tinnitus. 
  • Endoscopic surgery of the nose and sinuses, septum alignment, treatment of the lower cochlear, including laser surgery. 
  • Treatment for throat and vocal cords, hoarseness, benign and malignant tumors open and closed methods (endoscopic/laser) and endoscopic stroboscopic evaluations, surgery for voice quality. 
  • Head and neck surgery – benign and malignant tumors of the face, neck, salivary glands and thyroid. 
  • Treatment of injuries to head and neck due to trauma 
  • Diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders. 
  • Diagnosis and treatment for adults and children suffering from snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. 
  • Diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ENT disorders in children, acute inflammation of the middle ear in children and infants, tonsillectomy, removal of adenoids and congenital cysts. 
  • Next to the ENT department is the Hearing Institute where behavioral hearing tests are performed on children and adults as well as BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry) testing. Additionally, a hearing assessment is performed on all newborns at the Medical Center.

  Academic and Research Activities

The Resident Program of the Otolaryngology Unit is fully recognized by the Scientific Council of the Israel Medical Association.

The Unit is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine of the Bar-Ilan University and regularly conducts various clinical research projects. In this framework, the Department physicians teach medical students at the Faculty and in the Department.
