Support for Ziv's Humanitarian Aid


Ziv Medical Center was honored to receive a donation from the "Institute for Peace in the Middle East" based in Japan. The donation was presented to Dr. Salman Zarka, by a delegation consisting of Mr. Hod Ben Zvi, President of Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in Israel; Ms. Adi Sasaki, President of the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) in Israel; Sheike Ali Birani from Dalyat el Carmel, President of the Jerusalem Forum for Cooperation and Interfaith Understanding and his daughter, Ms. Adira Birani, a UPF Peace Emissary.

Mr. Hod Ben Zvi visited Tokyo in March, where he delivered a speech in the Japanese Parliament, including a presentation about the humanitarian assistance Israel is providing to the Syrian casualties, with a focus on Ziv hospital. The audience included several dignitaries, among them were a representative of the Japanese Parliament and a representative from Israel's Embassy in Japan. The moving event was organized by UPF Israel and the Japanese Institute for Peace in the Middle East

UPF was founded in 2005 by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his wife Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon in order to advance their vision for world peace.
UPF promotes educational programs, international initiatives and humanitarian projects. It establishes global networks of peace builders to contribute to a world of sustainable peace in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation and prosperity. It has 131 branches worldwide and enjoys the support of relevant UN institutes.

WFWP is a women's coalition for world peace, which has an advisory status in the UN's Social and Economic Council (ECOSOC). This NGO provides women with the tools to fulfill their potential as social leaders working towards sustainable peace. The organization establishes projects working towards inter-religious understanding via international conferences and projects run by volunteers for the benefit of communities throughout the world.
