Senator Fischer Visits Ziv Medical Center


Senator Deb Fischer and her husband Bruce visited Ziv Medical Center where they met with Dr. Salman Zarka, Director General of Ziv Medical Center.

Senator Fischer, a senior Republican Senator representing Nebraska, was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. In her capacity as Chairwoman of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, Senator Fischer is focused on working with the United States military to monitor the threats facing the US and its allies and provide the appropriate tools for them to meet these challenges. This subcommittee’s jurisdiction includes cybersecurity policy. Senator Fischer also serves on the Senate’s Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee as chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety and Security.

The Senator and her entourage were briefed by Dr. Zarka on Ziv's humanitarian treatment of severely wounded Syrians, casualties of the civil war raging in Syria.

The Senator's visit was part of a tour of Israel, hosted by the American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF),the charitable organization affiliated with AIPAC.
