Government Promise to the North

The Ministry of Finance has announced that hospitals in the north of the country, including Ziv Medical Center, will receive funding for development and reinforcement, at a total cost of NIS 50 million

Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon stated: "The plan to strengthen the north is one of the most significant steps we have taken to narrow the gaps between the periphery and the center; there are those who expressed doubt about our ability to implement the plan. Today we are working together with KKL-JNF investing hundreds of millions of shekels developing the infrastructure of the region; residents of the north require health infrastructure, education and employment opportunities as high as anywhere else in the country. The security of the State of Israel is directly affected by the social and economic prosperity of the entire North. We will continue to make sure that the plan is implemented to the last shekel, just as we promised".

The cooperation between the KKL-JNF and the government ministries will lead to significant social change not only in the north of the country but also in the south, with the intention of narrowing the existing gaps between the services available in the periphery and those in the center of the country.
