Ziv's new Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic

As part of Ziv's strategy to expand and increase the medical services available to residents of the north, a pulmonary pediatric clinic opened, headed by Dr. Hussein Dabach, a senior pediatrician and specialist in children’s pulmonary disorders.

Dr. Dabach (49), a resident of Dir Al Asad, is an honors graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion. During his studies he was awarded a scholarship for excellence to the Michael Reese Medical Center in Chicago, USA.

Dr. Dabach specialized in Pediatrics at the Bnei Tzion Medical Center in Haifa, followed by a specialty at the Pediatric Lung Clinic of Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
He has 17 years of experience in Pediatrics, 10 years as a senior specialist in Pediatric Pulmonary Diseases and he also lectures at the Bar-Ilan Faculty of Medicine in Zefat.

The clinic will treat a wide variety of pulmonary problems including asthma, bronchitis, bronchiolitis (RSV), pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, congenital malformations of the respiratory tract and pulmonary diseases of infants and premature babies.
Tests available will include respiratory function tests, a methanol test for diagnosis of asthma, stress test, sweat test, and bronchoscopy.

International studies reveal that respiratory problems, of which asthma and cystic fibrosis are the most prevalent, account for approximately one quarter of all children’s visits to a physician. Asthma, a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is caused by a combination of hereditary and environmental factors such as allergy and air pollution. Cystic fibrosis, a serious genetic disease caused by a defective gene and affecting the lungs, pancreas, sweat glands, digestive tract and sex organs, is one of the most common hereditary diseases in western countries.
